Maintenance and innovation of a .NET software factory at KBC

For the past few years, several of Nais Software’s consultants have been closely involved in the development, maintenance and improvement of the Nirvana .NET software factory at KBC.

Firstly, new technologies were explored and their benefits were mapped out:

    • Using the Microsoft Sync Framework can be used to synchronize data between Microsoft       SQL Server and Microsoft SQL Server Compact, enabling us to build Occasionally Connected       Applications.

    • Using the latest technologies such as Entity Framework and Silverlight, we assisted in the       design and development of the next version of the software factory, which will provide a solid       base for building Rich Internet Applications.

Secondly, the existing software framework is continuously being enhanced, for example by implementing Continuous Integration Builds and Continuous Deployment.

Thirdly, our consultants organize the education and training of junior developers in the secrets of the framework used at KBC as well as in the methodology (Scrum like). This is done on site in Belgium, but also at their off-shore branch in India (ValueSource).
